The quarterly Ophthalmology update (international) is first independent scientific Ophthalmic journal being regularly published from Islamabad since 1998 by Ophthalmic Newsnet., a non-profitable organization entirely devoted to the welfare of visually handicapped, promotion of Ophthalmic Sciences and trade activities of the business organizations engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of medical products especially ophthalmic drugs and equipment.
The journal is registered with the Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad under Press & Publication Ordinance vide No: 3405/2/963) Press 98 and is indexed with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council, Pak MediNet and ISSN International Center of France, & U.K.
It is being edited under the guidance of Prof. Dr. M. Yasin Khan Durrani., who has the rich experience of 38 years teaching Ophthalmology at Rawalpindi Medical College and Islamic International Medical College, Rawalpindi Pakistan., apart from being a consultant Ophthalmologist to over 20 scientific organizations in the private and public sectors since 1968. Being a “Pride” of Karachi University, he is also a recipient of highest scientific award in Ophthalmology by the President of Pakistan as well. The journal has grown to be a very popular scientific journal in the Ophthalmic Community.
Ophthalmology update highlights the original research articles, papers and current developments in the field of Medicine especially in Ophthalmology, with updated information of academic activities around the world. The journal is circulated to the participants of various Ophthalmic conferences, in addition to its distribution to major medical institutions, ophthalmologists , postgraduate doctors, opticians, nurses and the pharmaceutical organizations. The Ophthalmology update has the largest circulation in Pakistan as well as many European and Asian countries.
